Aitkin Fish House Parade: A Unique Celebration

Kick off the holiday season with Aitkin’s Fish House Parade!

You may be wondering what a Fish House Parade even is. Well, it’s Aitkin’s way of kicking off the holiday season with a parade down Minnesota Avenue of festive ice fishing shacks decorated for the season!

This special event draws thousands of visitors to Aitkin not only for the parade but also for other special events happening throughout the day after Thanksgiving.

The day starts with the Fishhouse 5K and then there is time before the parade to explore a vintage snowmobile exhibit, let the kids meet Santa and snap a photo, sip and stroll in Downtown Aitkin and shop local businesses and the craft and bake sale market and Christmas Marketplace.

After the parade it’s “After Parade Until Soup Is Gone Free Soup” at The Landing. It’s your choice of creamy chicken wild rice or hamburger vegetable. You can end the day with live music by Molly Lu at The 40 Club.

These are just a few of the events happening that day!

This all happens on Friday November 28th. The 5K and Ice Hole Hop start at 8am with most other events starting at 10am, leading up to the 1pm parade. Learn more and see the full schedule of events here.
