Stephen King, the renowned author, recently made a pointed comment directed at Laura Loomer, a 32-year-old supporter of former President Donald Trump. In response to her public call for the arrest of Democrats, King used the phrase "quiet, piggy," which has sparked significant discussion across social media platforms.
On November 23, Loomer shared a post on X that featured an all-caps message from Trump, stating, "MANY GREAT LEGAL SCHOLARS AGREE THAT THE DEMOCRAT TRAITORS THAT TOLD THE MILITARY TO DISOBEY MY ORDERS, AS PRESIDENT, HAVE COMMITTED A CRIME OF SERIOUS PROPORTION!" She captioned the post with a question that resonated with many: "When are they getting arrested? It's November, and nobody has been arrested for treason or sedition. We are running out of time." This post was viewed over 1.3 million times, highlighting the widespread interest in the topic.
However, not everyone supported Loomer’s stance. Stephen King, the 78-year-old author, took to X to share her post and added his own commentary. He simply wrote, "Quiet, piggy," a clear nod to a recent incident where Trump had used the same phrase during a press conference on Air Force One. During that event, Trump reportedly yelled the insult at a female journalist who was asking about the Epstein files, a moment that quickly went viral.
The phrase "quiet, piggy" has since become a symbol of Trump's confrontational style, with White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt defending it by stating that Trump is a "frank" and "honest" president. However, this explanation has not quelled all criticism, as previous comments attributed to Trump have resurfaced. These include an alleged reference to a Miss Universe winner as "Miss Piggy."
MAGA supporters attempted to defend Trump by suggesting he might have said "quiet, Peggy" instead, but this theory has been largely dismissed. The journalist in question is believed to be Catherine Lucy, which has led to further scrutiny of Trump's past remarks.
Social media users responded swiftly to King’s post, with many expressing support for his choice of words. One user remarked, "Love how your replies hit like your scenes on screen, Mr King, sharp, dark, lean and mean. 'Quiet, piggy' reads like one of your lines: same cold chill, same perfect spine." Another suggested, "Stephen, have you thought about writing a story based on characters from the Trump administration? It almost writes itself." A third user noted, "Disagree with you on just about everything, but I'll join you in piling on Loomer."
Despite the support, some users criticized King for using the term "piggy." One user stated, "Just because Trump did it doesn't make it okay to call women 'piggy'. I promise you this is not the gotcha that you believe it is." Another commented, "Did you just tell a woman (Laura Loomer) 'Quiet, Piggy??' Not a great look." A third user added, "Calling a woman 'piggy' because you're rightly disgusted that a man called a woman 'piggy' is not the mic drop you think it is."
